On January 5, Governor Inslee announced the Healthy Washington - Roadmap to Recovery plan, which lays out the process to safely reopen Washington state including such business activities as Weddings, Funerals and Events.
The plan includes guidance for certain businesses and industries to help protect Washingtonians and minimize the spread of COVID-19.
One of the guidance is to ensure frequent and adequate handwashing with adequate maintenance of supplies.
While Alcohol-based hand sanitizers can quickly reduce the number of microbes on hands in some situations, sanitizers do not eliminate all types of germs. The best option is still soap and water. According to a 2019 study by the American Society for Microbiology, using running water and soap to wash your hands is more effective than a dab of gel that you have not quite rubbed in.
